The Town of Pepperell seeks a qualified Building Inspector/Zoning Officer (full or part-time) to perform inspection work related to the data collection and interpretation of the state building code, the local zoning ordinances and other applicable regulations. Inspects residential and commercial construction and remodeling from footers to final inspection, documents inspection results, investigates complaints of code violations, and answers building code and other general questions while in the office and in the field. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, online permitting software, as well as knowledge of Town government operations required.
Candidates must possess advanced technical school training or equivalent experience in general construction; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with town and members of the building community and the general public. Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License and State Certification as a Local Inspector. Valid motor vehicle license required.
