Job Description

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Works directly with children to provide them with a safe, warm, nurturing, and educational environment.
•Makes sure all of the children’s needs are met at all times.
•Establishes strong parent and family relationships and ensures that parents’ and children’s needs are communicated to the correct people within the center.
•Creates and implements fun and engaging activities with children.
•Ensures the classroom is kept clean and organized.
•Adheres to all EEC regulations, policies, and procedures.
•Models appropriate practice for high school students in the preschool setting.
•Assists in observing high school activities with preschoolers.
•Communicates with the Director if there is questionable behavior from students.
•Helps high school students fulfill tasks given by all classroom teachers (assisting in activities, setting out materials, etc.).
•Performs other duties assigned by the Superintendent-Director.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position may require long periods of standing and lifting for long periods of time. The individual may be required to work in a loud and fast-paced environment. Other activities include working both inside and outside in safe weather conditions.
Work day 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full-time, twelve-month position.
Salary and benefits based on Non-Union Personnel Policy.

Job Requirements

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Must be a Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Teacher Status for Preschool.
    2. Candidate should have 1+ years of experience working with preschool-aged children.
    3. Knowledge of child development through coursework or other experience.
    4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    5.Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
    6. Excellent attendance and punctuality required.
    7. Exceptional organizational skills and cleanliness.
    8. Ability to multitask.
    9. Candidate must be flexible and be able to respond to change as needed.
    10. Candidate must be flexible and willing to work beyond the typical Child Care Center school hours as needed in the event of staffing changes.

    Child Care Center Director

    JOB GOAL:
    The Child Care Center Teacher shares in the overall development and supervision of a well-balanced childcare program. The Teacher is responsible for the operation of the childcare center according to philosophy, policies, and goals set forth by Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School in accordance with all local and state licensing requirements.
  • At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • High School/Trade School degree preferred.
