Licensed Fire Alarm Technician

We offer a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus for Licensed Technicians. This opportunity is in our Arlington, Massachusetts Headquarters.

 

Summary of duties and responsibilities

 

Duties include but are not limited to the following: responsible for providing fire testing and inspections for customers. Must be proficient at servicing all of the fire systems that are in our customer database and able to effectively communicate with technical staff and external/internal customers. All services must meet the highest quality standards set forth by American Alarm while assuring a professional and safe working environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Test fire alarms at customer sites by inspecting controls, transmitters, batteries, and audible and visual alarm indicators. Clean smoke detectors and test. Perform maintenance, repair and replacement to fire alarm systems.
  • Maintain accurate records and files to perform routine inspections for customer base.
  • Monitors quality of service and installation work performed at customer site to ensure the highest quality standard and safety.
  • Provides written and oral reports to Central Station by phone or radio.
  • Complete testing paperwork.
  • Physical requirement to inspect equipment include climbing ladders, poles and riders, squatting, and lifting an average of 50 pounds.
  • Other duties include reading, writing, taking verbal instruction, and using a key board.
  • Must be able to speak knowledgably to customers and employees. Demonstrating proper business ethics to a high degree of customer service while confidentiality maintaining relationships with customers and employees.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle adhere to policy and maintain vehicle.
  • Regular attendance must be maintained.

 

Equipment used to Perform Job

Must be skilled using the following equipment: a ladder, company vehicle, hand tools, (I.E. screwdriver, drill, meters, telephone headset, soldering iron, pipe bender, hilti gun etc.) and telephone, lift, computer and calculator.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Must have a good working knowledge on a variety or fire alarm panels/systems.

 

Education

 

High School Degree or equivalent and knowledge of installing all basic fire alarms with one to two years of related experience.

 

License/Certifications Required

Massachusetts Electricians Journeyman “B” or System Technician “D” license

F1 Boston Fire Department Alarm License

Valid driver’s license
