Blow Mold Supervisor

Job Summary:

Responsibilities include overseeing and optimizing the operation of PET blow molding machines, ensuring efficient production of high-quality plastic containers. This role requires in-depth knowledge of blow molding processes, machinery setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and production optimization. Manages three shifts of Blow Mold Operators. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Blow Molding  Operations: Operate, adjust, change over, maintain and oversee PET blow molding machines to produce plastic containers that meet quality and  production standards.
• Manage Staff-  Manage staff of three Blow Mold Technicians.
• Machine Setup &  Calibration: Set up and calibrate blow mold machines according to specific production requirements, ensuring that molds, temperature settings, and other parameters are optimized for each production run.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime, establish and perform preventive maintenance as needed to  maintain machine efficiency and longevity.
• Quality Control:  Monitor and inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications, making necessary adjustments to machines or processes to maintain quality standards.
• Process Optimization:  Analyze and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce  waste, and improve overall product quality.
• Safety &  Compliance: Ensure all blow molding operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a safe working environment by following and enforcing safety guidelines.
• Training &  Mentorship: Train machine operators and production staff on proper machine operation, maintenance, and safety practices.
• Documentation &  Reporting: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, maintenance schedules, production logs, and quality control reports.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in PET blow molding operations.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of blow molding machines (e.g., Sidel, Kosme, Krones, Aoki, or similar), tooling, and process parameters.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve machine and process issues.
• Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail with a focus on quality and precision in production.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to [insert weight] pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a production environment.
• Teamwork: Strong  communication and leadership skills, with a focus on collaboration and mentoring.

Requirements

• Plastics Industry knowledge, technical background.
• Advanced certification in plastic/blow molding operations
• Experience with lean manufacturing practices or Continuous Improvement.
• Familiarity with automated and semi-automated blow molding equipment.
• Previous Supervisory experience.
