This 1940s-themed dance, held in the historic War Memorial Building in Shirley, will feature live music, refreshments, and a cash bar. The War Memorial Building is located at 8 Church Street, Shirley, MA and is wheelchair accessible. Buy tickets now online or at the museum at 94 Jackson Road, Devens during museum hours.
Enjoy period music by the Compaq Big Band featuring vocalist Aviana Gedler. Join in a free dance lesson and other period entertainment.
Guests will enjoy the American classic Dagwood sandwich and additional light refreshments. To make for an authentic 1940s event, the space will be decorated with the familiar designs of cans of SPAM and glass bottles of Coca-Cola.
The War Memorial Building in Shirley is home to the Shirley Legion Post and World War II and other military memorabilia will be on display.
Civilian and military period dress is strongly encouraged, but certainly not required. Tickets are $40/person or $75/couple and are available at www.fortdevensmuseum.org/events. Korean War and World War II Veterans may attend free as our guests. Please contact the museum for details.
