MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Friends of Children and Families (FoCF), a local non-profit organization serving children throughout the Framingham MetroWest area, received a $5,000.00 grant from the Main Street Group (MSG) Foundation. This funding will make possible numerous events designed to bring foster families together, helping to build a valuable network and mutual support in a variety of fun and family-friendly settings.
“I would like to share my true appreciation of our partnership. The MSG Foundation’s grant funding has enabled us to hold important events where foster parents and foster children alike were able to make new friends and share their unique experiences,” said FoCF board member Bill Firth.
While the organization provides direct financial support to foster families, FoCF also fundraises to create enrichment activities and events for foster children and families. Board members and volunteers work to improve outcomes for children and families, ensure they are surrounded by an adequate safety net, and assist the agency in becoming an effective community partner. Events such as a Summer BBQ, Foster Family Holiday Party, Winter Gathering, and Foster Parent Appreciation Dinner have provided opportunities for foster families to come together and embrace a supportive network of advocates, families, volunteers, and friends.
“Main Street Bank and the MSG Foundation are truly proud to partner with an organization that supports the positive growth, development, and well-being of children and foster families in the MetroWest region,” added Gretchen Herdrich, Audit, Executive, and Community Relations Coordinator at Main Street Bank. “Our partnership with Friends of Children and Families and supporting our communities are the building blocks to providing a better and brighter future for our children.”
