AYER — Quilters and sewing enthusiasts in North Central Massachusetts have a new place to shop, learn and create. Creation Station, located at 13 Groton Harvard Road, Unit 2, will celebrate its grand opening weekend on Aug. 22–23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It comes at a welcome time for the region’s quilting community. The closing of the Quilted Crow in Bolton following owner Sue Loring’s retirement last November left local quilters with fewer options for purchasing quality fabrics and supplies close to home.
Creation Station hopes to help fill that gap while creating a new gathering place for quilters and sewists throughout the area.
The shop offers a carefully selected assortment of quality fabrics, notions, quilting and sewing supplies, along with classes, workshops, events, and specialty services, including long-arm, sewing machine repair days and even scissor sharpening.
Creation Station has been a lifelong dream of owner Teresa Jardon, a Hubbardston resident, opening the shop after a 30-year career in higher education.
“I’ve always loved the way quilting and sewing bring people together,” Jardon said. “My hope is that Creation Station becomes a gathering place where people of all ages and backgrounds feel welcome to stop in, find inspiration, learn something new and connect with others who share their love of creating.”
The grand opening will give attendees an opportunity to explore the new shop, meet the staff and learn more about its products, classes and services.
Creation Station quilt shop and quilters workshops will serve quilters and sewists of all ages and experience levels. The shop is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where people can learn, create and connect.
