The Blue/ Green Fitchburg initiative is a proactive project aimed at enhancing the City of Fitchburg’s resilience to climate change, particularly flooding and extreme heat. Funded by the Massachusetts Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) grant program and FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program, this initiative focuses on improving the downtown Urban Renewal Area with climate adaptation measures. Through community engagement and innovative solutions, Fitchburg seeks to create a model for other municipalities, addressing environmental vulnerabilities while promoting economic growth and sustainability. As a part of this project, we seek an art installation that brings awareness to the public of the need for resilience to climate change.
Proposals must be received via Website Form submission no later than 3:00 PM on March 24, 2025. Please send all questions to CommDev@fitchburgma.gov
