About the role

As a Launch Operations Training Specialist, you’ll be the training and operations expert who ensures new Wonder locations open with excellence. You will serve as a subject matter expert and frontline leader, preparing new team members to deliver consistent food, service, and culture from day one. In this role, you’ll carry responsibility for enabling store readiness and ops excellence as the new store opens and ramps. You’ll also act as a business consultant, conducting readiness assessments, staffing shifts as needed, and supporting the overall launch and transition of each new store.

This is a salaried role that requires extensive travel within your assigned region and occasional cross-region support.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead onboarding and intensive hands-on training, and station certification during new store launches for hourly and salaried team members, ensuring all team members reach need proficiency.
  • Oversee performance management of launch teams, holding them accountable to standards to enable continued operations success from turnover to normalized operations.
  • Conduct readiness assessments and provide recommendations to ensure successful launch-to-normalization transitions.

  • Deliver training using varied instructional methods, adapting to different learning styles to maximize team comprehension and retention.

  • Provide real-time coaching, track progress, and address performance or skill gaps with timely interventions.
  • Support business operations as needed, including staffing and running shifts to ensure readiness and execution.
  • Adapt quickly to new processes, tools, and initiatives introduced during launches, modeling flexibility for team members and reinforcing updates that may later be adopted across the business.
  • Maintain accurate training materials and records; ensure compliance with Learning Management System (LMS) requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with Launch Leads to identify training gaps, propose improvements, and execute solutions that increase scalability and success.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement in training content, technology usage, and launch operations.
  • Collaborate with Launch peers and cross-functional partners (Operations, HR, Learning & Development, Quality, Safety) to drive consistency and readiness.
  • Provide cross-region support on a floating basis as required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in multi-unit restaurant openings or facilitating training in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with food safety and hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) guidelines.
  • Experienced coach with demonstrated proficiency in managing the performance of teams in operational settings.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), and POP technology.
  • Strong understanding of learning models and ability to flex training style to meet the needs of different learners.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-growth, ambiguous environment with the ability to make informed, time-sensitive decisions.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, including the ability to staff, manage, and run a shift effectively.
  • High attention to detail with consistent delivery of accurate, high-quality work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills with a passion for developing others.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel extensively within the regional pod, with cross-region support as needed.
