BoomX, an adult use marijuana dispensary, is looking for an experienced Dispensary General Manager for our 3,000 SF Shirley, MA location with the opportunity to manage our future Waltham dispensary. This position requires a focus on coordinating and standardizing practices across all store locations. The Dispensary General Manager will play an intricate role in customer retention and is expected to work with upper management to devise and execute plans that improve employee performance and streamline operational efficiency.

The Dispensary General Manager is expected to lead our team in its day-to-day operations. The manager’s main responsibilities are to train employees to meet or exceed company sales goals and provide a welcoming environment for all consumers. This position requires the Dispensary General Manager to maintain records, facilitate contact with wholesalers, embrace consumer education, and understand marketing. As Dispensary General Manager, you will help decide which products to carry, and assist in determining the best pricing based on market conditions. The successful candidate will be self-motivated taking “ownership” of the dispensary, thinking outside the box to attain goals and meet expectations. The successful candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in retail management and at least two years of retail cannabis experience.

  • Develop operational standards and ensure consistency across all future store locations
  • Develop and write manuals that detail the standards for all future store locations
  • Communicate expectations to store leaders and general staff
  • Design layouts and store merchandise
  • Manage costs by performing inventory analysis
  • Determine optimal stock levels for store locations by reviewing past sales
  • Work with inventory to schedule deliveries to replenish stock according to store traffic
  • Monitor the cost of inventory, shrinkage, and operational expenses
  • Adjust procedures to maximize resources and prevent revenue loss
  • Implement all operational rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to advance the company’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives
  • Coordinate and facilitate all transactions, inventory controls and operations
  • Aligns and supports training, professional development, and mentorship to leadership team.
  • Conducts periodic succession planning and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are well- defined.
  • Manage, supervise, and direct the activities of all assigned staff and make recommendations regarding hiring, disciplining, terminating, and advancing employees
  • Develop, implement, and oversee company policies and ensure staff adhere to best practices
  • Manage and inspire staff to deliver the highest level of customer service ensuring customer retention and expansion
  • Review employee performance regularly and maintain employee records
  • Ensure safety and satisfaction of all customers and employees
  • Ensure ongoing staff education on recreational cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods
  • Assist in development of budgets and sales forecasts
  • Fulfill staffing needs and coordinate employee scheduling
  • Liaise with Cannabis Control Commission (CCC), law enforcement, vendors, landlords, and local community as needed
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all strains and products in store inventory as well as industrywide product and trend knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • Minimum two years (2) cannabis retail experience
  • Minimum two years (2) retail management experience with supervisory role
  • Proficient with basic software (i.e., Microsoft Office), and POS systems
  • Excellent people skills, ability to motivate and teach leaders to succeed
  • Experience drafting manuals and setting operational standards
  • Ability to collaborate with leaders to maintain consistency in all future store locations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
