At Clear Path for Veterans New England, we empower Veterans and Service Members adjusting to civilian life after the military to develop a life action plan that optimizes their health and wellness by enabling them to reach their full potential. The Housing Specialist is dedicated to working with all three components of the SSVF Program: rapid housing, re-housing within 90 days of losing housing, and housing stabilization and prevention. Develop relationships with landlords and property managers for permanent housing placement and retention. Working collaboratively with the SSVF Team to achieve stated outcomes. Provide follow-up advocacy to landlords on behalf of SSVF participants, providing all necessary support to prevent further loss of housing. This position employs a variety of evidence-based interventions, including motivational interviewing, harm reduction, relapse prevention, and trauma-informed care to provide client-centered services to Veterans.  Whether it is dealing with a Veteran who is homeless or food insecure, finding a veteran a job, or dealing with an immediate need, Peers, case managers, and Wingmen are there to encourage Veterans and Service Members that they meet in their communities to reach out for help and will refer them to the Clear Path for Veterans New England team to work with a Peer Mentors and case managers to develop a life action plan. Clear Path works hand in hand with the Veteran or Servicemember by supporting progress against action plans to identify if additional help or resources are needed.

Requirements

  • Veteran preferred but not required.
  • If a veteran or non-veteran is hired, they must be able to share your experience and information with Service Members and Veterans throughout your community.
  • Experience working with homeless population, various subsidized housing options, working with a diverse population.
  • Attend a variety of Community engagements along with Clear Path for Veterans New England’s Wingmen/Women and Peer support specialists.
  • Veterans must provide a DD-214 with package.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role, either military or human service field
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Pass CORI
  • Three personal references
  • Resume
  • A brief statement about why you want to serve our Veterans, Service Members, and Clear Path for Veterans New England.
  • one-year of related work experience, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
