What You’ll Do

  • Assist physicians in implementing patient care plans and procedures
  • Perform clinical duties, including vital signs, phlebotomy, and EKGs for patients of all ages
  • Support front office staff and office coordinators with administrative tasks
  • Accurately record patient demographics, schedules, and clinical information in the EMR
  • Ensure proper handling of laboratory specimens and assist with office and lab procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team both in person and by phone
  • Process insurance verifications, billing, and other financial transactions as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all regulatory, safety, and quality standards
  • Work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

What You Bring

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Graduate of a certified or registered medical assistant program preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year in urgent care or a related healthcare setting preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience with patients of all ages highly preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Licensure & Certification

  • CPR/BLS certification required (or to be obtained within 4 months of hire if not current)

Key Skills & Strengths

  • Strong clinical skills with attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, laboratory procedures, and clinical protocols
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and scheduling software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior customer service skills and ability to handle escalated patient issues professionally
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Knowledge of medical billing, coding, and third-party payer requirements
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
