Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy Avoidance: Alternatives for Small Businesses

Many small businesses will struggle to emerge from this crisis without needing to renegotiate or restructure leases, loans, and other obligations. Some will be able to make out-of-court arrangements with landlords, lenders, and other creditors. Some will need to reorganize under bankruptcy. This session will provide overviews of bankruptcy avoidance through out-of-court renegotiation and bankruptcy under the new Small Business Reorganization Act (new Subchapter V of Chapter 11). Chapter 7 liquidations will also be covered.
