The Nashua River Watershed Association is leading three FREE workshops in our “Nature+Art+Teens/Tweens=Fun” series for 10 to 15 year olds.
WHEN: Mondays, April 3, 10, and 24 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sign up for one workshop, two, or all three. Register online today.
WHERE: Williams Barn and Conservation Land, 160 Chicopee Row in Groton, MA
WHAT: There is a powerful intersection between nature and art, and the Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) is looking to explore that intersection with young people ages 10 to 15. Each workshop will feature the local plant and animal life of a defined habitat at the Williams Barn property, with a focus on close observation and sketching to better understand how living things connect and are interdependent. All programs will include hands-on experiential learning tools and activities including outdoor exploration in each of the three habitats, and an opportunity to use drawing and painting to explore the wonders of nature. The workshops will also offer opportunities for like-minded young people to meet and share their passions for nature and art together in a safe and fun environment. NRWA educators/naturalists Stacey Chilcoat and Gaynor Bigelbach will lead the series.
REGISTER: This program is free and open to ages 10 to 15. Registration is required; space is limited. Register online today. For questions, email registration@
This free NRWA youth program series is made possible in part by a grant from the Groton Trust Fund Lecture Fund.
