3-31-2017Golden State/Lone Star Revue is an all-star, cross-country melding of musicians from California. Grammy nominee Mark Hummel(harp-blower, vocalist and bandleader) has been on the road since 1984, releasing 17 albums and CDs. He has been nominated for three years in a row for Best Harmonica by the BMA Awards.Anson Funderburgh from Texas (guitarist and Rocketsbandleader) has spent most of his life playing the blues and earning the respect of artists like Delbert McClinton, Boz Scaggs, Jimmie & Stevie Ray Vaughan & Ronnie Earl. Little Charlie Baty(ex-Nightcats bandleader and guitar hero) who, according toRolling Stone, "plays as much guitar as Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy put together," RW Grigsby (bassist extraordinaire) and Wes Starr (famed Austin drummer) has played with a who's who of Texas music royalty. They are currently up for four Blues Music Awards in Memphis for Best Blues Band, Best Traditional Blues Album, Best Harmonica Player & Best Bass Player!
Legendary keyboardist (Hammond B3 and piano) Bruce Katz has released 7 CDs as a leader and has appeared on nearly 70 other CDs with the likes of John Hammond, Delbert McClinton, Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard, Little Milton, Joe Louis Walker, David “Fathead” Newman and many, many others. He was a member of Gregg Allman’s band for six years and toured with the Allman Brothers as well. He is a four time BMA nominee (2008, 2009, 2010, 2015) for the “Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year” award, which is the equivalent of the “Blues Grammys”.
