Lawmakers are pondering another minimum wage hike. How will it affect your business?
Join us for a discussion with Chris Carlozzi, NFIB Massachusetts State Director, against the “Fight for $20”. Meeting will take place at the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce, 2 Shaker Road, Shirley (Building B, Suite 200).
Additionally, Chris will provide insight into Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund (UITF), Health costs, Energy, and other labor mandates pending that may affect your business.
What is this Covid 19 assessment on my Q1 UI bill and why is it so large? Why did the state not use more money for the UI fund and instead rely on employer contributions? How is state health spending below the cost growth benchmark, but I'm experience double digit premium increases again? Why are Massachusetts energy costs so much higher than states in other regions? Is a $20 minimum wage a real threat and how do businesses say this is a step too far? Is tax reform still a reality on Beacon Hill? Why did efforts stall in 2022?
Attendees will also receive information about the upcoming 2023 Small Business Day – which Nashoba Valley Chamber is a partner on – scheduled for May 24 at the UMass Club.
