The Center Cemetery Tour

Kick-off for this event is an in person self guided tour Saturday May 22, 2021 at 12 Noon. Please observe social distancing. On Saturday there will be an HHS table at the Still River Rd. entrance to the cemetery (near the General Store) where you can pick up a guide booklet . The information and tour guidance will remain on our website, www.harvardhistory.org, so you can take the self guided tour at any time. Whether you are guided by the booklet on May 22 or by our website on another day, this tour will be fun for all ages. This self-guided tour explores the years of the town's incorporation through the late 20th century. Visit the resting places and find out about the lives of Founding Fathers Simon Stone and Peter Atherton, Colonel Bromfield's enslaved servant Othello, Black Civil War soldier William Henry Hall, stone cutter Isaac Stone, philanthropist Margaret Bromfield Blanchard, and adventurer William Savage. Each of these former residents pursued their dream of creating a better world for their children and each contributed to making Harvard a better place today.
