Bolton’s 275th Anniversary Parade!
On Sunday, June 23rd, Bolton will kick off its 275th year celebration with an exciting town parade. In addition to the many floats, historic figures, horse drawn carriages, antique cars and everything in between, we are excited to announce that Stuart Highland Pipe Band will join us in our march down the Main Street of Bolton. Make sure you mark your calendars so you don’t miss this rare opportunity to see one of the world’s top piping bands.
Bagpipes offer some of the most melodious and haunting music that will provide an awe-inspiring addition to this event. The appearance of the Stuart Highland Pipe Band, based in Wilmington, MA has been generously sponsored by Murphy Insurance. The band will surely delight the audience and ring in the first celebration for Bolton’s many upcoming festivities.
Not only is the Stuart Highland Pipe Band one of Massachusetts’ Premier Bag Piping organizations but they have also competed internationally, including the World Pipe Championships n Glasgow, Scotland where they were the winners in overall piping. We are excited to have them march with us in Bolton!
The parade will depart from the Bolton Office Parking lot at 1:00 p.m., will proceed west on Route 117, turn left on Wattaquadock Hill Road and end at Memorial Field where there will be more music, cake and a celebration.
Route 117 will be closed after 12:30 so be sure to get to Main Street in time to park and find a good spot to enjoy the parade. Parking will be available for spectators at the Florence Sawyer School, Emerson School, the Sheep Field behind Florence Sawyer, the First Parish Church, Town Hall, Dr. David’s Dentistry/Clinton Savings lot, Integrative Animal Health Center and the Trinity Church lot closest to the church. There will be handicap parking at the Houghton Building in the center of Bolton. Lower Wattaquadock Hill Road, portions of Trinity Church lot, Manor Road, and Memorial Field will be reserved for Parade participants.
