Barney Levitt has always been drawn to detail and it has been the realist painters who have been the source of his inspiration -- the Dutch Masters as well as contemporary realist painters: Stone Roberts, Scott Pryor, Scott Fraser, and Gregory Gillespie. Although he prefers not to label himself a Still Life painter, still lifes figure predominantly in his work.
