SHIRLEY — Looking to get your Christmas shopping started early with local handmade crafts? The United Church in Shirley has just what you’re looking for.
The annual United Church of Shirley’s Christmas Fair will be held Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 4 Lancaster Road. The event gives people an opportunity not only to get a head start on their Christmas shopping, but also to support the church.
There is no admission into the fair, but all proceeds raised through sales of raffle tickets, crafts, blankets and food will go to support various efforts of the church.
Meredith Marcinkewicz of Shirley said the fair will have more than 30 themed raffle baskets, a bargain basement, homemade candy and crafts.
“A group of women have been working for months making scarves, earrings and flannel blankets to sell at the fair,” she said. “There will be room for children to make their own crafts, and there will be a room full of good used clothing at bargain prices.”
Food and homemade baked goods will be available for sale.
