Wachusett Brewing Co. is adding another beer alternative its widening selection of alcoholic beverages: hard cider.
The Westminster brewery announced the official launch of its Fifty Trees Hard Cider line on Thursday. The launch will include two styles, both featuring apples from orchards in North Central Massachusetts.
The brewery has been making cider for the last two years, but it was only made available in the taproom under the name Yard Cider.
Fifty Trees is available in 12-ounce cans with just two options to start: an original hard cider flavor and a cranberry flavor.
“We have done a ton of experimentation over that time and are proud to finally be able to launch Fifty Trees to a wider audience,” President Christian McMahan said in a statement.
The brewery began planning a cider launch through its expansive distribution network since the beginning of the year.
Wachusett's newest brand of beverages builds on the success of its hard seltzer line, Nauti Seltzer, which launched in 2016.
