Portal for Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVGO) Reopens

New Members

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will reopen the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant application portal on Saturday, April 24.**
The site, which went live on April 8 to allow promoters and venue operators to apply for much-needed government grants, crashed within a few hours of opening without accepting a single application. The SBA closed the site to work out the technical glitch.
Eligible applicants may qualify for grants equal to 45% of their gross earned revenue, with the maximum amount of $10 million available for a single grant; $2 billion is reserved for eligible applicants with up to 50 full-time employees. Eligible entities include:

  • Live venue operators or promoters
  • Theatrical producers
  • Live performing arts organization operators
  • Museum operators
  • Motion picture theater operators (including owners)
  • Talent representatives
Applicants must have been in operation as of February 29, 2020. Venues or promoters who received a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan on or after December 27, 2020 will have the SVOG reduced by the PPP loan amount.
For more information and to apply, please visit the SBA’s website.
