The Climate Change Committee (CCC) seeks to fill two vacancies
The CCC recommends and pursues strategies, policies, and practices to achieve net-zero carbon emissions in Pepperell by 2050. The CCC promotes the protection of biodiversity and the sustainable use of our working lands and natural resources. Additionally, the CCC educates the public on what each of us can do to live more sustainably.
The CCC seeks individuals wishing to contribute to meeting Pepperell’s climate change mitigation and adaptation goals. CCC members must be able to attend one committee meeting per month and spend 1-3 hours per week contributing to the committee’s work. Such work may include independent research, writing and/or reviewing documents, creating and/or reviewing presentations, and meeting with residents, businesses, and town personnel.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A passion for making a difference
- A background in one of the following disciplines:
o Civil engineering
o Education
o Environmental or life sciences
o Marketing communications
o Municipal zoning/planning
o Renewable energy
o Residential/commercial development
