As our Quality Assurance Manager, you will drive team performance to ensure quality standards and continuous improvement. Our managment team recognizes that reliable quality is paramount to our success. You will collaborate with the management team and report to the Plant Manager on all quality aspects of our engineering and production environment. We are in high growth mode as our international company is cresting 1B in revenue. You will be an integral part of the next phase of our growth.
In this role, you will ensure customers experience industry-leading quality and consistency in the flexible polymer compounds they purchase. You will lead the daily operations of the quality lab and interactions with operations leadership to ensure that all our products meet or exceed the standards our customers expect. You will also own continuous improvement of our QA tests, processes, equipment and tools while partnering with Technology (R&D) leadership to improve our specifications and Operations leadership to improve our manufacturing processes.
Outcomes
- Efficiently and accurately compete all required QA testing
- Prepare Customer Requested Certificates of Compliance on time with product shipments
- Maintain Quality System Documentation and Record Retention
- Manage the Product / Process Change Management Process
- Maintain Document Control Database
- Manage the complaint process and completion of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions Report for customer complaints
- Chair the ISO Steering Committees & manage ISO Employee Training
- Review and Approve Operating Procedures and Job Work Instructions
- Maintain Corrective Action Logs and track effectiveness of corrective actions
- Maintain Supplier ISO Certifications and Quality Appraisals
- Inspect Finished Product Retains Daily
- Maintain UL Standards
- Manage the Internal Audit process
- Assist with External Customer Audits and Appraisals
- Involved in the Disposition Decision Process (MRB), when applicable
- Select, train, develop, motivate and evaluate employees in a timely manner consistent with company policy
- Communicate with employees, other departments and management in a timely fashion
- Develop subordinates’ knowledge and skills to improve performance and expand abilities in their current positions and individual career objectives
Competencies

- Strong background QA process management
- Experience with ISO 9001 implementation, internal and external audits
- Knowledge of global regulatory compliance (TSCA, RoHS, Prop 65, Reach, etc)
Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead and develop a Quality team
- BS in Quality, Plastics or Chemical Engineering is preferred but not required
- Six Sigma qualification preferred
- Experience managing a quality management system QMS in a plastics production environment as well as managing team
- Demonstrated knowledge of UL & ASTM tests that are common to plastics production and/or processing
