Position Summary:

As a Shriver Job Corps team member, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical, administrative, and departmental duties in support of the Center Standards Office and functions in compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and the Behavioral Management System.

Essential Functions:

  1. Under the direction of the Center Standards Officer (CSO), assist students in the resolution of judicial issues.
  2. Maintain, track and monitor student incident reports (both positive and negative), contracts, payroll deductions and bus tickets in accordance with DOL and management guidelines; record student behavioral actions and dispositions in the Center Information System (CIS).
  3. Assist the CSO in coordinating and maintaining the student incentive system.
  4. Process and maintain student violations, leaves, excuser codes and termination files in accordance with government and API guidelines.
  5. Prepare Center Review Board packets and information; prepare, maintain and submit minutes as required.
  6. Perform various clerical and administrative duties and tasks to include typing correspondences, form letters, forms, and reports; printing, copying, filing and other records maintenance tasks; processing incoming and outgoing mail; answering telephone; receiving visitors; and responding to staff/student questions.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
  8. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff, and other center customers.
  9. Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal and study habits and coordinate with other staff as necessary to resolve issues.
  10. Participate in student employability programs and activities; develop and conduct enrichment programs as needed or assigned.
  11. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy and Center Behavior Management System.
  12. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, consistently monitoring student behavior and conduct, and mentoring students where necessary.
  13. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices; attend all required staff training.
  14. Coordinate with other staff and departments regarding issues related to the provision of student services and to interdepartmental and center programs, activities, and events.
  15. Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to live, learn and work.
