SUMMARY:
Manages the bulk processing function of Catania Oils by assisting in the intake and output of bulk oil shipments. Direct Reports include Bulk Supervisor and indirectly a team of Bulk Technicians. Requires a high level of attention to detail, organization, and adherence to policies and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
· Leads a team that is responsible for ensuring that bulk oil is loaded into the appropriate tanks based on the operational strategy. Requires coordination with the supervisor and Bulk Technicians to ensure that all loading processes are executed efficiently and safely.
· Initiates all oil moves in compliance with all policies and regulations including, but not limited to, (Food Safety, HACCP, SQF, GMP’s and Vessel Sanitation).
· Develops, edits, and maintains work instructions, creating standard work for all operational tasks.
· Develops, edits, and maintains training processes and training documentation to ensure all personnel have been adequately trained per work instructions.
· Serves as a backup to the supervisor in the event the supervisor is not on site for any reason.
· Understands and disseminates company policies and procedures, collaborating with the supervisor to see that they are being followed.
· Follows up on issues, mistakes or non-compliance actions which may result in added cost or potential physical hazards.
· Understands how the oils are blended for production purposes using appropriate food chemicals as per procedures.
· Maintains accurate inventory for all oil coming into the storage system (tank farm) and going out to the tank trucks. Reports discrepancies to appropriate parties, and assists in resolving any discrepancies in inventory or conflicts.

· Knows all related sanitation policies and procedures to ensure that they are understood and followed.
· Utilizes our computer systems to maintain appropriate records and documents.
· Utilizes central computer system, Enterprise 21 (E-21), to maintain all inventories, oil moves, lot tracking and FIFO, etc.
· Ensures bulk personnel are adequately trained and adhere to all documented procedures and regulations, such as, but not limited to safety requirements; OSHA, all aspects of food safety; HACCP and GMP’s and fall protection.
· See that all operations are conducted as safely as possible.
· Oversees Bulk department and in conjunction with the supervisor maintains performance standards, disciplinary action and appropriate recognition.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
· Must be able to coach, motivate and lead others to accomplish all the duties and responsibilities of the Bulk Processing Department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Minimum: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) along with five plus years related experience managing and/or training within a manufacturing department.
· Better: Associate degree plus experience.
· Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, plus experience in a wide variety of applicable disciplines will be considered or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Exhibited ability to write reports, develop key performance indicators (KPI) and respond to critical issues.
· Can develop, write, review and edit work instructions or training material, develop step-by-step instructions or flow charts.
· Present an argument or position and prove or disprove the premise.
· Perform a simple cost benefit analysis.
· Proficiency in a second language, like Spanish, is always a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Know how to use a digital calculator.
· Ability to understand basic mathematic principals.
REASONING ABILITY
· Ability to reason through semi-complex problems.
· Use standard reasoning methods, cause and effect, root cause, and apply “common sense” understanding.
· Ability to resolve conflict, both philosophical and interpersonal.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· The job can be physically demanding, in the event you are filling in for a supervisor or, on occasion, doing the work of bulk technician.
· Required use of hands and arms to reach, grab, hold and manipulate items.
· Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
· Capable of lifting and/or moving items up to 50 lbs.
· Capable of working inside and outside exposed to the different temperatures and elements.
· Must climb heights, stand on top of rail cars and tanker trucks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Employee in this position works in the following environments: Bulk Processing Department, garage, tank farm and external rail yard.
· The work environment requires employees to be exposed to external elements varying temperatures.
· The work environment noise level varies. The tank farm requires hearing protection be worn.
· Due to the nature of the job, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is necessary. Items to be worn or used include but may not be limited to eye protection, hearing protection, gloves and harnesses.
· In the event that the Bulk Processing Manager is absent; or is unable to perform the essential functions of his/her job; the Bulk Processing Assistant will assume the duties.
