Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be an integral part of the organization and part of a cohesive and well-functioning HR team. The ideal candidate will manage payroll, and support with various HR functions such as helping employees with questions about benefits, FMLA, and 401k. Additional support will include working with our recruiting team to assist with onboarding and employee orientation. How you will contribute:

 

  • Processes weekly payroll and coordinates distribution of weekly paycheck/stubs. 
  • Notifies HR Manager of any variances to company policies.
  • Assist with keeping Job Posting Boards current to include preparing and removing postings as needed.
  • Assists with screening applications received (internal and external) , coordinates scheduling and conducting interviews for hourly positions. May also assist with scheduling interviews for Exempt positions as requested.
  • Ensures that response letters are sent to all interviewed candidates.
  • Once an offer is made, coordinates and verifies all pre-employment verifications are completed.
  • Coordinates New Employee Orientation, conducts HR portion of Orientation to include completion of all required New Hire paperwork and training.
  • Verifies all I-9 forms for new hires – maintains forms and notifies employees for re-verifications as needed.
  • Sends out notices and ensures 30/ 90-day review is processed for all new hires to include completed certification and food safety test.
  • Processes HR related invoices for payment
  • May assist with entering workers comp accidents as requested and provide payroll information to insurance company for lost time accidents. 
  • Prepares and distributes all required paperwork (i.e.: COBRA forms, final paychecks) for terminating employees. Cancels their health/dental and other benefits as needed.
  • Processes all new employee benefit paperwork.
  • Coordinates temporary agency weekly timecards and reporting, processing invoices for payment.
  • Processes weekly payroll to include obtaining proper authorizations for special pay situations, notifies HR Manager of any discrepancies to company policy.
  • Maintain HR database in Payroll and HR System to include entering all changes as needed.
  • Provide general employee relations support including benefits, payroll and employee relations issues.
  • Oversees ordering and recordkeeping of employee uniform program.
  • Assist with special events, i.e., flu shots, holiday luncheons etc.
  • Maintain employee files and completes employee record keeping activities.
  • Responds to wage and employment verification requests.

 

 

 

What we need from you:

 

  • A minimum of 3 years of previous Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information with the ability to exercise discretion and show good judgment; honesty, integrity, and trust-building behaviors.
  • Effective time management and organization skills
  • Experience managing payroll through a payroll provider such as Paylocity, Paychex, or ADP preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • HRMS/HRIS experience and/or implementation experience is a plus
