The nurse manager is responsible for the quality of nursing care for pediatric and adult patients coming to the office. The manager directs the implementation of nursing care, which includes, but is not limited to, assessing patient needs, setting priorities and maintaining adequate staffing. The manager is a teacher and a role model for the clinical staff under his/her supervision. The manager must be proficient in telephone triage and nursing procedures, in addition to maintaining an efficiently running office.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Five years in a management role, preferably in a hospital or group practice setting.
  • Strong clinical experience in pediatric medicine required, additional experience in adult medicine a plus.
  • Demonstrated managerial and leadership abilities.
  • Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current RN licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Current BCLS.

Other Qualifications

  • Participation in relevant CEU programs.
  • Maintenance of requirements for licensure.
  • CPR certification annually.
