Community Health Connections (CHC) is a safe haven to find compassionate care, regardless of income or insurance status. Founded on February 25, 2002, we have 20 years of experience as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving low income, underinsured, uninsured, publicly housed, and homeless populations in 35 cities and towns in North Central Massachusetts.
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager and Medical Manager, the Medical Assistant provides assistance to the patients and providers to manage the flow of the clinic.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree in secretarial science, medical office assistant or equivalent preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish/English or Portuguese/English Preferred
- 1-year similar work experience in a medical office environment preferred
- Computer skills for accurate data entry
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Computer skills for accurate data entry
- AHA BLS Health Care Provider certification or equivalent
- Hearing to distinguish difference in heartbeat and breathing of patients and to hear instructions.
- Near visual acuity to read gauges and dials on equipment.
- Color vision for perceiving changes in patient's skin color or color of solutions.
- Able to lift 40 lbs.
- Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced medical office environment
