Prep Cook
Description
The Position:
As a Prep Cook, at Gibbet Hill Grill you will be responsible for prepping high-quality meals for a high-volume restaurant. The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cutting and chopping vegetables, and assisting in the creation of delicious meals that meet the expectations of our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent knife skills, and experience in a professional kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for dishes, including cutting, chopping, and measuring ingredients

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and labeling of all food items

Follow recipes and directions provided by the head chef to ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and to high quality standards

Work with other kitchen staff members to ensure that all elements of the meal, including sides and sauces, are prepared in a timely manner

Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure that all food preparation is safe and hygienic

Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, including knives, cutting boards, and food processors

Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
Requirements:

Strong knife skills and an ability to work quickly and efficiently

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, and an ability to ensure that all food preparation and presentation is in compliance with these standards

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and busy kitchen environment
