Occasional travel to New Bedford and Fall River State Piers (mileage reimbursed)

Four days in the office/on-site; option to work remotely one day per week

Job Overview
Under direction of the Asset Management’s Property and Facility Management Team, the Assistant Facility Manager’s primary function is to support the business relationships and maintain the physical aspects of the Jodrey State Pier, in Gloucester Massachusetts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team, who takes initiative and strives for continued improvement. Experience in any of the areas including property maintenance and management, shoreline structures, commercial fishing, cold storage facilities, or office buildings is helpful.
Responsibilities
Provide property maintenance and inspection
Ensure property cleanliness and maintain safe working and operational conditions
Ensure property complies with applicable environmental, safety, and health regulations
Act as liaison with tenants
Assist in response to maintenance, safety, and security calls
Assist in procurement of supplies and services required for efficient operations
Assist in coordination and management of contractors, vendors, and property users
Primarily a self-managed role, with reporting responsibilities through weekly updates and meetings with Asset Management team members
Other duties as assigned
Competencies
Understanding of workplace concepts and issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression
Experience in property management
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities
Valid state-issued driver’s license
Post-high school education with a concentration in construction, project or facilities management, or a combination of work and educational experience
Knowledge and or experience in any of the following areas is helpful though not required
Marine timber pile-supported wharf and fendering
Building systems, maintenance, and construction
Electrical, building, and safety codes
Bilingual a plus; not required for the job
