SPED TEACHER-Adult Transition Program
 
 
 
 
Responsibilities:
The Adult Transition Program, Special Education Teacher is responsible for the creation of a differentiated curriculum in Math and English based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core, support students in achieving their IEP goals and benchmarks, as well as coaching and mentoring students as they prepare for college, career and/or next steps in life. This position requires individuals to have the ability to recognize the unique qualities of each student and incorporate an individualized approach in supporting their daily routine and schedule.
 
 
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in education, special education or related field
Master’s Degree in special education is preferred
Massachusetts Educator’s Licensure in Special Education for 8-12
One year of experience in the field of Education or Special Education
Transitional planning and guidance experience
Knowledge of evidence-based inclusive practices that meet the needs of social/emotional learners
Knowledge of a range of special education interventions
Understanding of behavioral principles
Strong leadership and team-building skills
 
 
Shift:
Mon-Fri, 8:00am-3:30pm
