Permanent Substitute Teacher

The substitute teacher is responsible for teaching classroom lesson plans and conducting activities as prepared by the regular classroom teacher.
Teaches daily and/or weekly lesson plans to assigned classrooms; conducts teaching experiences through a variety of modalities and themes in order to maximize learning opportunities; reviews each student’s IEP to ensure that educational instruction is consistent with learning needs.
Documents educational and behavior events in order to provide consistent communication with the classroom teacher regarding student progress during the teacher’s absence. Fully trained in and understands the treatment philosophy and therapeutic classroom model and ensures that these practices are accurately carried out in the classroom; other duties as assigned.
Individual should have strong instructional, verbal and written skills as well as experience working with children in groups.
Massachusetts Educator’s License.
Master’s Degree preferred, and Bachelor’s Degree considered in related fields of Education, Human Services, or Psychology.
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
