REMAKE Virtual Manufacturing Exploratory Pilot Program
Subject Matter Technical Expert
 
The Technical Expert will assist in the implementation of a virtual manufacturing pilot program funded through the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development reporting directly to the MassHire North Central Workforce Board Deputy Director. The Technical Expert will support the partners of the REMAKE manufacturing initiative to engage and provide technical support for current Unemployment Claimants referred by the MassHire Career Center counselors in a training exploratory of the careers in the advanced manufacturing industry.
 
        Technical Expert in manufacturing to work approximately 5 hours per week between May – December 2021

  • Contracted position
  • Flexible afternoons and evening schedule to accommodate participants
  • Planned monthly schedule in advance
 
The Following Duties:
  • Receive referrals from case managers for participants agreeing to individualized help from a subject matter specialist up to 5 hours each
  • Provide individualized instructional support to participants
  • Establish set of office hours for participants to provide individualized instructional support
  • teach instructional module(S)
  • Liaison with case managers, and coordinator through emails
  • Maintain summary notes of implementation process including challenges and solutions
 
 Qualifications
 
  • Understanding of the manufacturing industry
  • 3-5 years’ proven job experience in a teaching  environment ,
  • Ability to work with an online platform and curriculum
  • Experienced in managing individuals with different learning abilities
  • Solid interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Strong writing and computer skills
  • Flexible

This is a 8 month flexible contracted consultant position with an hourly rate of $50 for the duration of the grant from May 1-December 31, 2021.
