Please join us at our February “Eggs & Issues” (aka Public Policy) meeting in the Samson Board Room at Phoenix Park. (Directions)
Our guest speaker will be Keiko Orrall, Executive Director of Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism.
The Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism (MOTT) is the state agency dedicated to promoting Massachusetts as a leisure-travel destination. An integral part of the state’s economy, tourism generates $1.5 billion in state and local taxes and $22.9 billion in travel related expenditures, supporting 149,400 in-state jobs.
Keiko Matsudo Orrall of Lakeville, MA became the first Asian American woman to be elected to the Massachusetts Legislature in 2011. Full of enthusiasm and energy, Keiko worked to build bipartisan relationships and solve problems in her four terms of public office as a State Representative. She was successful in advocating for the re-opening of Massasoit State Campground that had been closed for years and was vocal in support of small businesses. A graduate of Smith College, she served on the UMASS Center for Women and Public Policy Advisory Board, the Pay Equity Commission, the MA Caucus for Women Legislators, and has worked to support women in public office.
