Like most Massachusetts communities,Devens has seen an increase in the frequency and severity of intense storm events, flooding, and extreme heat. After completing the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program in 2018, Devens is taking the next step towards meeting its climate goals with a climate action and resilience plan. The Devens community promotes a balance between economic development, quality of life, and environmental awareness. Just as they did with base redevelopment, Devens is taking a holistic approach as they consider climate change and how they plan for the future The DEC and MassDevelopment, in partnership with Kim Lundgren Associates, Inc., will use various techniques to engage the entire community including neighboring towns in this planning process.
