DESCRIPTION:Why did the US fight in WWI? Program at Fort Devens Museum\n\nWhy did the United States ever become involved in World War I? Wasn't it a European affair after all something being horribly dragged out for over three torturous years in trenches in France\, especially?\n\nTo find out why American direct involvement did indeed take place and how it all came about\, come to Fort Devens Museum on Saturday\, April 15th\, to understand what took place and something of how World War I has affected this nation and the world since then. This program is the Museum's kick-off of its main focus for the months ahead as part of the celebration and remembrance of the 100th anniversary of America's involvement in that war and also the 100th anniversary of Camp Devens.\n\n Telling the story of America's commitment to join the battle three years after fighting had already taken place will be guest speaker Michael Manfreda.
