DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the Townsend Seniors will host the lawn party at the Townsend Military Band's Thursday evening\, August 10th\, concert on the Townsend Common.\n\nThe Friends of the Townsend Seniors will be selling pulled pork sandwiches\, hot dogs\, hamburgers\, cheeseburgers\, bunk house beans\, watermelon slices\, chips\, and cookies to hungry concertgoers. They will also have cold soda and bottled water available for purchase.\n\nThe Friends of the Townsend Seniors will have a Recruitment Table set up on the Common during the concert where interested individuals and families may sign up to become members of the Friends of the Townsend Seniors.\n\nThe Townsend Military Band will open its concert at 7:30 by playing Curnow's arrangement of "Liberty Fanfare" and Kessler's arrangement of "A Tribute to Harold Arlen". "Highlights from Camelot" arranged by Yoder\, the "Cinerama March" arranged by Cacavas"\, and "Selections from Mary Poppins" arranged by Ricketts will be performed. Barker's arrangement of "Hoagy Carmichael"\, Krance's arrangement of "Begin the Beguine"\, and Sousa's "Washington Post March" will be included in the first portion of the concert.\n\nFollowing intermission Erickson's arrangement of "Bolero" and Anderson's "Blue Tango" will be played. "In A Persian Market" by Ketelbey and "The Maine Festival March" by Hall will be performed before the band concludes its concert at 9:30 p.m. by playing the "Star Spangled Banner".
