Based on Dickinson's life from 1830 to 1886\, the play is set in her Amherst\, Massachusetts home and makes use of her work\, diaries and letters to explore both the agony of her infamous seclusion with moments of joy amid the people closest to her.\n\n\n\nNoted actor\, director and Fulbright scholar Kathleen Mulligan presents this solo performance based on the life of Emily Dickinson to Bull Run in our intimate Ballroom. Ms. Mulligan's acting credits include The Acting Company (national tour)\, American Repertory Theater\, Fort Worth Shakespeare in the Park\, and seven years as a resident actor at PCPA Theatrefest in Santa Maria\, CA. A professor of voice and speech at Ithaca College in Ithaca\, NY\, Mulligan recently completed a Fulbright-Nehru grant in India with her project "Preserving the Vanishing Stories of Partition" - creating original theatre pieces out of interviews with Partition survivors in the Punjab. \n\n\n\nKathleen first performed her production of The Belle of Amherst at the American University in Beirut (Lebanon).\n\n\n\n"A spellbinding performance."
