In just ten days\, students will write\, act\, and produce an original musical revue\, "jukebox musical" style\, under the guidance of professional actors\, dancers\, and musicians. Each student will be placed in one or more ensemble scenes selected to showcase his or her talents -- students get to choose their level of involvement in the show.\n\n\n\nThis unique program seeks to empower young people through educating them in the skills of performing on stage singing\, dancing\, acting\, creating\, and producing. The skills learned in StageIt! DIY Musical Revue will benefit any student who participates in musical theater productions in their schools and communities. Students will be grouped in classes/rehearsals by skill level and age (elementary\, middle school\, high school). \n\n \n \n\n \n\nNew this year! Extend the experience by signing up for the optional three-day pre-program workshop. Get a jump start on your acting and singing skills through specially selected workshops and activities that are educational and fun! The dance and acting/reading auditions will be done in groups. A dance combination will be taught by the choreographer\, and excerpts for readings will be provided for the acting portion.\n\n \n\nAbout the Instructors:\n\nSusan Bonito\, IHMS Voice Department Chair \n\nSusan has been producer/director of the school's youth musical theater programs for many years. She began her musical training as a classical saxophonist and culminated her senior year of high school by winning first chair in the National Honor Band (America's Youth in Concert) and touring with that group in performances at Carnegie Hall\, Kennedy Center\, Rome\, Florence\, Venice\, Salzburg\, Paris\, and London. Susan holds a B.A. in Vocal Performance from California State University. She was the Central California Regional winner of the Metropolitan Opera Regional Auditions and the Music Teachers Association VOCE Auditions\, a finalist in the California Young Artist's Competition\, and a semifinalist in the Belvedere International Opera Auditions in Vienna\, Austria. Susan is also a member of the voice faculty at St. Mark's School in Southborough and serves as Music Director at the United Parish of Upton. \n\n \n\n \n\nRob Woodin\, IHMS Voice Department Faculty\n\nRob Woodin has performed with Odyssey Opera\, Opera Providence\, Opera Boston\, MetroWest Opera\, and with Boston Opera Collaborative in many fully staged operas\, concerts\, recitals\, and education outreach. He serves as cantor at Sacred Heart Church in Waltham\, and is the bass choral fellow at Old South Church in Boston.
