SUMMARY:Public Policy Meeting - October 2016
DESCRIPTION:Members of the Nashoba Valley Chamber are invited to join us at our October 4th Public Policy Committee meeting where we will be joined by Greg White from the Office of Consumer Affairs.  \n\n\n\nGregory J. White serves as the Chief of Staff and General Counsel for the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation (OCABR) for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Mr. White is responsible for overseeing the legal Departments at the Division of Banks\, Division of Insurance\, Division of Professional Licensure and the Department of Telecommunications and Cable and serves as legal counsel to the Division of Standards.  In addition\, he assists the Undersecretary in the development and coordination of public policy for OCABR and its constituent agencies.\n\n\n\nMr. White embarked on  his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Worcester County where he spent 10 years prosecuting a variety of cases in all 10 county courts\, as well as major felonies in the Worcester Superior Court.  From there he went onto serve as Chief of the Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit in the Norfolk District Attorney's Office and member of the homicide prosecution unit.  Attorney White finished his prosecuting career as a senior attorney with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office\, where he prosecuted gang related matters and homicides.\n\n\n\nOn the state level\, Mr. White served as Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel at the Department of Industrial Accidents and as General Counsel for the Department of Labor in the Romney Administration.  Thereafter\, he received a presidential appointment and served as a Senior Attorney Advisor at the U.S. Department of Labor in the Bush Administration.\n\n\n\nPrior to joining the Baker Administration\, Mr. White was in private practice where he focused on employment and labor law as well as criminal defense.  Mr. White is an Adjunct Professor at Clark University and has served as a long time faculty advisor in the Trial Advocacy Workshop at Harvard Law School.\n\n\n\nMr. White graduated with a B.A. in political science from St. Michael's College and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.  \n\n\n\nSpace is limited - please RSVP
