DESCRIPTION:This meeting is open to members of the Chamber only.  Members must register in advance.  \n\n\n\n\n\nNEXT MEETING - TUESDAY\, JANUARY 6th at 8am at the Chamber\n\n \n\nWe have heard from many of our members about the 37% rate increase in electrical power from National Grid in our region.  To help us better understand the increase and what we may be able to do about it\, we have invited Jed Nosal\, a noted energy attorney and former Chief in the Attorney General?s Office.\n\nJed Nosal is Counsel in Brown Rudnick?s Government Law and Strategies Group in the Boston office where he provides licensing\, regulatory\, compliance and investigative counsel to a diverse set of clients in multiple business sectors.\n\nJed served with distinction over a sixteen year career in government including senior level regulatory\, policy\, investigative and litigation experience across a wide spectrum of practice areas.  Prior to joining Brown Rudnick\, Jed was the Chief of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office Business and Labor Bureau managing civil and criminal investigations and litigation on behalf of the Commonwealth involving energy and telecommunication regulation\, wage and hour enforcement\, the supervision of public charities and Medicaid fraud investigations and recovery.  Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General\, Jed was the General Counsel of the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Energy.  Jed has held other positions in state and municipal government including Deputy Legal Counsel to Governor Jane Swift and staff counsel to both the State and Boston Police Departments.\n\nJed?s vast and diverse government experience has taken him from the hearing room to the board room\, representing the public?s interest.  Examples of his government experience include: utility rate cases and other rate proceedings\; utility merger approvals\; cost recovery and utility backed financing of renewable development\; formal participation in the regional energy market and transmission planning stakeholder processes (NEPOOL)\; nonprofit corporate governance investigations and conversions\; and enforcement of the Commonwealth?s public construction and bidding laws and consumer protection statutes.\n\nJed has testified before state and federal regulators and the State Legislature on numerous energy related and consumer protection matters and presented at multiple regional and national conferences. \n\n \n\n*************************************************\n\nSAVE THE DATE\n\n \n\nPublic Policy Forum - Monday\, January 26 at Noon\n\n \n\nJoin us for a lunch with Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito and learn about the Baker - Polito plans for 2015 and beyond.
