DESCRIPTION:A guest speaker at Fort Devens Museum on Saturday\, March 18th\, will describe a new dimension of the old adage that a man is a dog's best friend. Lauren Burbridge\, Director of Operation Delta Dog\, will describe how the non-profit organization saves homeless dogs and trains them to serve as companions to combat Veterans. The program begins at 1:00 PM at the museum\, located on the third floor  at 94 Jackson Road\, Devens. \n\n\n\nThe mission of Operation Delta Dog is "to rescue homeless dogs and train them to work as  service dogs for Veterans who are suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)\, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)\, and related challenges." Burbridge served as manager of communications and training at the Center for Shelter Dogs at Animal Rescue League at Boston and manager of Massachusetts Animal Fund\, a program of the Mass. Department of Agricultural Resources before joining Operation Delta Dog as Executive Director. She is committed to "ending animal homelessness and promoting benefits of human/animal relationships. \n\n\n\nThis program is free and open to the public. The Fort Devens Museum is located at 94 Jackson Road\, Devens\, MA and is open on this day\, Saturday March 18th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
