SUMMARY:* Now You’re Talking! (Bull Run Restaurant)
DESCRIPTION:Now You're Talking!\n\n\n6-10-2017 (Ballroom)\n\n\n\nA Storytelling Show for Adults presents "Beginnings" \n\n\n\nIf you like comedy\, tragedy\, and every life experience in between\, you'll love "Now You're Talking!" This live storytelling show features everyday people telling incredible stories from their own lives. Modeled after National Public Radio's "This American Life" and "The Moth" with a little bit of Kevin Allison's podcast "Risk!" thrown in for good measure\, you'll hear six storytellers tell funny\, heartwarming\, engaging tales focused on a "beginning" in their own lives. \n\n\n\nBen Alvord has been writing since his early teens\, including work in fiction\, screenwriting and sketch comedy. He recently finished his first novel. When not writing\, you might find him working in online marketing for a technology startup in Boston or renovating properties with his wonderful wife.\n\n\n\nTerry Wolfisch Cole is a writer\, yogi\, baker\, Deadhead\, wife and mother. An expatriate New Yorker\, she is a cutthroat mah jongg player who prefers tequila and almost certainly swears more than you do. Terry is a Moth StorySLAM and GrandSLAM champion. She has also told stories at Speak Up and the MoUth in Hartford and Valley Voices in Northampton.\n\n\n\nHonor Finnegan is an award-winning singer songwriter\, storyteller\, essayist\, and flash flood survivor. She currently resides in New York City with 6 plants\, one espresso maker\, and an air fryer.\n\n\n\nDon Pickard was a double major in Theatre Arts and Computer Science at Cornell\, and chose to work as an engineer in order to feed his family. Don enjoys telling live stories about his kids\, husband and extended family as it is fun\, therapeutic and allows him to exercise the other half of his college degree so he doesn't become bitter.\n\n\n\nTracey Segarra launched her career in NYC as a reporter and editor for local newspapers and national wire services\, interviewing politicians\, celebrities & criminals. But now all she wants to do is tell stories to strangers about her own life. She has appeared on the Risk! live show and podcast\, is a 3-time NYC Moth StorySlam winner\, a Moth GrandSlam champion and the host of "Now You're Talking!"\n\n\n\nBart Thompson has been telling stories off and on for most his life and has spent the last couple years performing on stage with The Moth\, MassMouth\, The StoryCollider\, Speak Up\, Live Bait\, among others. Bart is the creator and producer of the monthly Now Listen Here storytelling series which features stories from tellers of all backgrounds at the Homestead Cafe in the heart of Dorchester. Remember\, tragedy plus time equals comedy. So if you can't laugh\, cry. You'll appreciate it later.\nBuy Tickets
