DESCRIPTION:In a positive\, playful class that includes games\, creativity\, and quality children's literature\, children will practice and reinforce skills that are associated with reading success\, such as letter recognition\, phonemic awareness\, and sight word development. Designed to support the program used in the Groton Dunstable school district. Children will take home their own Words I Know book at the end of the 3-week session. \n\n	About the Instructor: Martha Foster has her MA in reading and has been teaching in both public and private schools for the last 15 years. She has taken part in various statewide initiatives related to standardized testing\, and also helped to introduce the Telian Reading program to the Florence Roche school\, where it is currently being used as the phonics based instruction tool. Martha has focused her continuing education on the use of reading strategies in other content areas. When she's not teaching reading\, you might see Martha around town\, running\, heading off to a yoga class\, or cheering on her children's sports teams.
