DESCRIPTION:HARVARD LIONS PRESENT VOLKSFEST 2017   When: Sept 16\, 2-9pm\; Rain date Sept 30   Where: Harvard MA\, in the heart of Massachusetts apple country. The festival will take place in front of the Harvard library\; 4 Pond Road\, Harvard\, MA 01451   The Harvard Volksfest is a Bavarian style funfest for the whole family\, features include: o Bed races. Harvard continues its version of a growing local event found throughout the country. We encourage people to not only be spectators but create a team\, build a bed and race! Races start at 2pm. For rules and registration forms please go Online o Live music. Great bands starting at 3pm ? The Farewells   an alternative folk duo from Maynard https://www.thefarewells.com/ Very cool opener ? The Mark Nomad Band   nationally known blues guitarist from Northampton power trio https://marknomad.com/ Mark will get the party started ? The Macrotones   10-piece Afro Funk Horn band with cool grooves who do originals and dance covers during their shows http://macrotones.com/ ? Fake News - featuring Dana West   Classic 70's rock and roll with an all-star cast. o Craft Exhibitors. A range of beautiful handmade goods will be on display o Kid's area/games. There will be an area dedicated to children activities. Also children are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal for donation and join in the Stuffed Animal Parade\, starting at 3pm o Food & Drink. Exciting food offerings featuring specialties guaranteed to please all\, starting at 2PM. No BYOB\, Adult beverages in our biergarten (beer garden) starting at 3PM\, to include Massachusetts breweries\, Local hard cider and wine   No admission fee   More information is available on our webpage: http://www.harvardlions.org/volksfest Spend an afternoon at a local orchard and join the fun at Volksfest 2017\, you will not regret it!
