New features include painstakingly hand restored windows\, an accessible washroom with hot and cold running water\, an accessible entrance\, and more.\n\n \n\n May 18 will be a time to celebrate a restored Sandy Pond Schoolhouse. You won't want to miss this opportunity to tour the newly restored schoolhouse. You'll learn a little more about its role in Ayer history and have some fun in the process. Food\, fun and a little bit of history. This is a role it served for many years following its 1908 purchase by SPSA. Lectures\, meetings\, musical performances\, and at least one art auction were regularly held at the schoolhouse. Now this will once again be possible. \n\n \n\n In addition\, we are delighted to announce the launch of a new program under which local elementary school students will spend a day at Sandy Pond Schoolhouse. \n\n Modeled after similar programs at other single room schoolhouses\, this program will provide students with a taste of schooling in an earlier era. It is being developed in collaboration with Page-Hilltop instructors and administration.
