The general public is invited to this event.\n\nCorporal O'Malley\, 93\, is a native of Clinton who courageously served in the Battle of Iwo Jima with the Fifth Marine Division during the Second World War. He has since resided in Clinton\, where he and his wife Teresa raised four children\, worked at A&P supermarkets\, and held every office of the Clinton Turners with the exception of treasurer. \n\nThe Clinton VFW renaming ceremony is a part of a broader effort to recognize the sacrifices and bravery of what has become known as The Greatest Generation. \n\n"Corporal O'Malley's service as a Marine in one of our nation's most significant and pivotal battles is a valuable example of the sacrifice that goes into preserving our democracy\, " Said Representative Harold Naughton\, who is co-facilitating the event with the Clinton VFW.
