The Ayer/Shirley Lions Club event will be held on Monday\, September 19\, 2011 at the WestminsterCountry Club\, Westminster\, MA.\n\n \n\nOver the past 94 years\, Lions all over the world have worked toward the prevention of blindness and emphasis on eye care. Forty million people are blind\, yet 80 percent of all blindness is preventable or reversible. Lions have established the majority of eye banks worldwide\, funded ground-breaking research on leading causes of blindness\, organized eyeglass recycling efforts and helped hundreds of thousands of visually impaired people develop the skills to live productive lives.\n\n \n\nThe members of the Ayer Shirley Lions Club are proud of our 80 years of service to our communities and our continued fight to prevent blindness. Besides our dedicated members\, it is the sponsorship of area businesses that help us to continue to help others. Each year we provide eye exams and glasses to local residents\, who would otherwise be unable to afford them. We have presented Braille writers to high school students so they can continue their education. Each year we give two scholarships to students that are furthering their education in medicine. This is only a small part of how your donation can help us help others.\n\n \n\nPlease take a moment and fill out the Sponsorship/Player Form and return with your donation as soon as possible.
